We will be having our first science club meeting this year on the 24th of September in room 1306. Please make sure to check us out at the club fair on the 18th and please encourage your parents to check us out at Curriculum night which will be on the 19th. Your vice-president, Pranav Kammili This is the Science Club board for the 2018-19 school year (yay!):
President, Katya Yegorova Vice President, Heera Rajavel Secretary, Mustafa Miyaziwala Treasurer, Salina Zhang Director of Communications, Angeline Yu This board will manage the next 2 (and last 2) meetings of the year! Those of you that did not win the elections, please do not be discouraged! Your voice in Science Club still has enormous value and influence and you will always have another shot next year :) As for this year's board, we are reaching our conclusion. Science Club has become a huge part of my life the last few years and it has been an extremely humbling experience to watch everyone come together over a passion for science. STEM is the future and this board (along with every previous board) has made progress towards creating opportunities for everyone to discover the endless and fascinating paths that science can create. Don't let anyone or anything stop you from exploring and stay curious! Elections are tomorrow!! If you are running for a position, please remember to have a 2-3 minute speech prepared for each position you are running for. We'll cut you off at 5 minutes!
If you aren't running for a position, please still come and vote! We will be making sure the voters are regular members. We will NOT be attending Science Olympiad State this year :( We did not have enough people to minimize the costs and I sincerely apologize but there is a lot of potential for the underclassmen to perform amazingly in the years to come. Please do not give up on Science Olympiad/Club and more importantly don't give up on your passion for science!
We will be doing elections soon! If you are interested, please fill out this google form Tomorrow's meeting is a MANDATORY SciOly meeting (meaning that if you happen to be doing SciOly, you MUST be present at this meeting)! I'll run through the itinerary and then you will have some time to catch up on everything.
Please also fill out and turn in the attached forms ASAP. Tomorrow's meeting will be a competition meeting (time to study and prepare for competitions). Bring any materials you might need!
Science Bowl: we'll be going over the logistics of the trip so please try to be there! Please don't forget to bring in your sweatshirt order forms + Science Bowl field trip forms tomorrow!! This is the final deadline for these!!!
We'll be doing a helicopter competition tomorrow! |
